I've really fallen behind with posting my paintings for the challenge. I have been painting and now I have the photos I will be playing catch up with the posting.
About this painting
We headed off early in the morning to track the rhinos (we had a lot of early mornings on our trip - but it was all worth it). How lucky the rhinos are to have this vast landscape to roam around in. The Kunene is a desert landscape that is also very beautiful.

I was taken by the colours on the ground as we flew over Namibia, the blues, purples, cyans and ochres had me fascinated. This is my version of that feeling. Some areas have lots of texture, others are smoother, it took a lot of paint.. The underpainting pokes through in places to add depth.

Day 13 Namibia Impressions 13 Work in Progress, Save the Rhino fundraising 30 paintings in 30

A work in progress. 50x60cm (20x24") on gallery wrapped canvase

We had a weekend of heavy storms and the light was so bad that I couldn't finish this one. I have a lot of catching up to do. That will teach me to include a large painting!

The bidding on day 11's painting 'Shimmering Light' is still open. Remember half of all proceeds go to Save the Rhino Trust Namibia.

Day 12 sees a group of ACEOs based on the coastal fog around the west coast of Namibia this time with a slightly different colour combination.

I love these colours so much I couldn't resist offering a more affordable way to buy art. These miniature paintings look great framed or displayed on a small easel on a shelf. They look even better when two or more are displayed together. See my Pinterest board for ideas on how to display small format art.

Namibia Impression Day 11 - Shimmering Light. MAKE ME AN OFFER fundraising

Namibia Impression Day 10 - Shimmering Light
40x50cm (16x20") 3cm deep
Oil on gallery wrapped canvas (staples on the back)
Edges painted black so can be hung without a frame

This abstract is full of colour that play off against each other. The background is blended to give a smooth base with individual colours added using a palette knife to give texture. The texture has varying depth to add interest and  a 3D look. Can you feel yourself . traveling through the painting and into the distance?

I am asking for offers over 250€ on this, remember 50% of the proceeds goes to the SAVE THE RHINO TRUST, NAMIBIA

A smaller painting for day 7 which once again evokes Etosha Pan, a dried up salt lake which floods in the rainy season Looking into the distance it is impossible to tell where the pan ends and the sky starts.. Painted on a smooth blended background with touches of impasto. The cool pastel colours invoke the early morning light.
